I want to celebrate International Women’s Day I I want to celebrate International Women’s Day I really do! In private, at home, this morning I said Happy International Women’s Day to Thea. I told her women are amazing. That today is a day to celebrate all women (ALL women). That women are amazing. And women should support women. But here in the space, honestly I’m just so sad. I read this week that a doctor in the US has been fined. For performing an a$ortion on a 10 year old girl who was r@ped. Who in their right minds would force a 10 year old child to have a baby?! After r@pe?!?! And choose to punish the doctor. What is going on in the world?!?! Are we sleep walking into Gillead here?! So I take a breath. I wish all the amazing women in my life, my community, the whole bloody world a wonderful hopeful day. You are amazing. You are powerful. You are the daughters of the witches they couldn’t burn!! But my gawd we have some work to do!! Let’s keep reminding our boys that girls are their equals not objects or ornaments. So when they discover men on the internet who say otherwise (and they will discover them; they probably already have) they have a solid foundation and will challenge that thinking.
